Metrics Setup

Enhance decision-making and optimize operations with metrics for a tailored, data-driven strategy.

Out of Dark enables you to integrate essential metrics—ranging from financial figures like income and expenses to digital metrics such as social media followers and churn rates—into the touchpoints of your customer journey. By incorporating these metrics, you can significantly improve decision-making processes, enhance performance tracking, and optimize operations through data-driven insights. Utilizing metrics within Out of Dark offers a deeper insight into customer behaviors, allowing you to customize experiences to better meet your business objectives. Additionally, metrics can be used to automate specific actions when data changes meet predefined criteria. For example, reaching a certain threshold might trigger an automated platform response, which could include sending notifications, launching marketing campaigns, or reallocating resources.Screenshot 2024-03-25 at 9.45.31 PM

Set up your metric

There are two ways to start leveraging this powerful tool. If you wish to do so in the context of the journey, navigate to the Detail view and click the "Add metric" button in the metrics widget of an activity. Then simply select the metric you wish to add. Screenshot 2024-04-19 at 12.48.59 PM

To configure, adjust, or update your metric, just click on the pencil icon.

To manage your metrics, use the Connections tab. Here, you can access all your metrics, configure multiple metrics simultaneously, customize parameters, and more. This tab displays important details for each metric, such as its name, the journey it's linked to, its data source, and the template used for processing the data. If you need to modify or delete a metric, click on the three dots on the right side of the metric and select the appropriate option. To introduce a new metric, just click the yellow plus button labeled “Add Metric.”Screenshot 2024-03-25 at 9.49.06 PM

When you start adding a metric, you will be asked to select a metric template. This choice dictates how your data will be handled in Out of Dark. There's a broad selection of templates available like "Appointments," "Budget," "Calls," "Conversions," "Leads," "Open rate," and more, catering to various data tracking needs. If these templates do not meet your specific requirements, you can craft your own for a more customized, hands-on approach. After selecting or creating a template, it’s time to give it a name. Once that is finished, simply click 'next' to proceed.Screenshot 2024-03-25 at 9.50.24 PM

The final step in the process is selecting the journey phase (Awareness, Consideration, Purchase, Loyalty, or another framework of your choice) and activity to which your metric will be applied. After making these selections, click "Create" to finalize the process. Your newly added metric will then be displayed at the top of the list. To view your metric within its assigned journey, simply click on the link found in the Location column.Screenshot 2024-03-25 at 9.52.23 PM
